I took to my handy dandy resources and put together 3 do-it-yourself moisture recovery regimens for our seemingly lifeless winter skin. After trying a few formulas, I absolutely loved the results of these three masks and thought I’d share the wealth. You’re welcome!
I’ll start off with what I call the wholly trinity. It is made up of coconut activated charcoal, calcium bentonite and gelatin. It’s easy to make (about 5 minutes) and a little goes a long way. The wholly trinity sucks out all the gross stuff your pore skin endures, pun intended, it also pulls out all our unwelcome friends, the blackheads, by default.
The main active ingredients for these eye pads are cucumber, rosewater and lavender essential oil. I’m sure you’ve seen plenty of movie scenes where ladies are resting with cucumbers on their eyes. There’s a good reason for this. Cucumbers have anti-inflammatory properties that help alleviate puffiness, they contain a high water content that helps hydrate the skin and it’s cooling affect helps decrease the flow of blood around your eyes, which helps relieve swelling. Try not to sample your cucumbers too much during this process or you’ll have none left for your homemade eye pad recipe.
