Eyes not only come in different gorgeous hues, they also come in many stunning shapes and sizes. Some eyes are slightly turned upward at the end, while some are rounder and others have hoods that ever so gently tuck away the eye-crease. There are as many eye shapes as there are people but most fall under one of 8 categories, which I’ll cover here.
I’ll start off with what I call the wholly trinity. It is made up of coconut activated charcoal, calcium bentonite and gelatin. It’s easy to make (about 5 minutes) and a little goes a long way. The wholly trinity sucks out all the gross stuff your pore skin endures, pun intended, it also pulls out all our unwelcome friends, the blackheads, by default.
Growing up in Utah… I had a hard time from a young age because most of the girls looked like Barbie dolls, they were blonde, skinny and blue eyed and here I was the chubby Greek kid with dark hair. I didn’t quite fit in.
The main active ingredients for these eye pads are cucumber, rosewater and lavender essential oil. I’m sure you’ve seen plenty of movie scenes where ladies are resting with cucumbers on their eyes. There’s a good reason for this. Cucumbers have anti-inflammatory properties that help alleviate puffiness, they contain a high water content that helps hydrate the skin and it’s cooling affect helps decrease the flow of blood around your eyes, which helps relieve swelling. Try not to sample your cucumbers too much during this process or you’ll have none left for your homemade eye pad recipe.
I didn’t grow up with self-love. I fell in love with myself for the first time and by then I was already 20! Modeling is a constant reminder that I’m beautiful and it helps me to fall in love with myself over and over again and I like that.
I will not say this lightly... whatever your endeavor, YOU MUST DECIDE TO COMMIT TO IT, PURSUE IT AND BE READY TO SEE IT THROUGH TO THE FINISH LINE NO MATTER WHAT (without pushing someone down the staircase). Seriously though, this is where those big girl panties come into play.
The lessons learned and the growing pains on both a personal and professional level, almost broke me. I was challenged in ways that, I'm sure hadn't even been invented yet and as painfully unbearable as these lessons were, I wouldn’t change a single thing... not one.
